Being a LEARNER, not MBA business plans - key to success. Are you a LEARNER?
Being a LEARNER is a Natural Talent, if you were born with it and you will never loose it. It can be a blessing or a curse in a home based business. If you develop it, it can make you a billionaire. Bill Gates, of Microsoft, did just that. If you have it, it is your most important key to a successful home based business. Business plans, cash flow projections, marketing analysis, etc. are skills that are needed in a home based business, but they can be learned from a workshops or books. Your Natural Talent is what gives you the completive edge.
This is the first in a series of articles describing the 34 Natural Talents that can give a home based business owner the “edge” in the market place. The purpose of this article is to help the home based business owner identify their Natural Talents. The rest of this article will discuss what to do with the Natural Talent, once it is identified.
First: examine if are you a LEARNER as we define it. Our definition of LEARNER is: A person that loves to learn. The process, more than the content is what is exciting to the LEARNER. They are energized by the steady and deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. The thrill of the first few facts, the early efforts to recite or practice what they have learned, the growing confidence of a skill mastered – this is the process that entices them. This LEARNER’s Natural Talent does not necessarily mean they seek to become the subject matter expert, or they are striving for an academic credential. The outcome of the LEARNING is less significant than the “process of getting there.
A LEARNER can go into a home based business such as carpet cleaning, and be successful. It is much easier and a lot more fulfilling for a LEARNER to be successful in a home based business that requires a lot of learning about the new subjects matter in a short period of time. For example, some aspect of the fast moving high tech computer business.
LEARNING is only one of the thirty-four Natural Talents that have been identified by the Gallup Poll organization.
